Apple Nut Cake
Ingredients:
• 1 c. sugar
• 2 c. peeled & diced apples
• 1 egg, well beaten
• 1 c. flour
• 1 tsp. soda
• 1 tsp. cinnamon
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
Directions:
Mix sugar and apples. Add egg when sugar is dissolved. Sift flour, soda and cinnamon together. Add to apple mixture. Add vanilla and nuts. Pour into greased and floured 8 inch cake pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes.
Ingredients:
Hot Butter Sauce:
• 1/2 c. sugar
• 1/2 c. light brown sugar
• 2 tbsp. flour
• 1 c. water
• 1/2 c. butter
• 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions:
Combine first 4 ingredients. Bring to a boil until clear. Add butter and vanilla, stir until butter is melted. Pour over hot cake. Delicious but rich!
