Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
• 3/4 c Butter or margarine; softened
• 1/4 c Shortening
• 3/4 c Sugar
• 3/4 c Brown sugar; firmly packed
• 2 Eggs
• 1 ts Vanilla extract
• 2 1/4 c All-purpose flour
• 1 ts Baking soda
• 1/4 ts Salt
• 12 oz Semisweet chocolate morsels
Double Chip Cookies:
• 1 c Peanut butter or butterscotch Morsels
• 6 oz Semisweet chocolate morsels
Directions:
Cream butter and shortening; gradually add sugars, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer. Add eggs and vanilla, beating well. Combine flour, soda, and salt; add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir in chocolate morsels. Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 9 to 11 minutes. Cool slightly on cookie sheets; remove to wire racks.
Double Chip Cookies: Prepare Chocolate Chip Cookies, using peanut butter morsels or butterscotch morsels and semisweet chocolate morsels instead of 1 (12-ounce) package semisweet chocolate morsels.
Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookies: Prepare Chocolate Chip Cookies, dropping them onto ungreased cookie sheets by 1/4 cupfuls. Lightly press each cookie into a 3-inch circle with fingertips. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 17 minutes.
